AP 209: Pursuing Professional & Life Goals: A retrospective on preparing for success in life and the world.
THE COURSE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING TOPICS, all of which are required to be completed. They are taught by six instructors.

Cost is $600 and includes the 72-hour course, the weekend hotel room, meals from dinner on Friday until Lunch on Sunday, and snacks and beverages. If you drive, parking is free.

MANAGING PERSONAL FINANCES: This portion of the class will help you analyze your personal spending habits and develop practical budgeting goals and techniques to prepare yourself for a successful financial future. Do you have a goal to save money for? This can help.
PSYCHOLOGY OF MOTIVATION: Motivation is the drive that gives individuals action to do something. In this course you will learn the Educational Psychology basic principles of motivation. Get ready to learn why you have made certain choices with your life.
STRESS RECOGNITION AND CONTROL: Here you will explore your personal reactions to stress, why humans have evolved to experience stress and how stress impacts the brain, our physical health and our mental well-being.
MANAGING PERSONAL WELLNESS: In this part of the course you will learn how to set health and wellness goals and make a plan to hold yourself accountable. You will look at food labels of your everyday foods and understand what is in them. Finally, you will set up a myfitnesspal account and keep track of your calories and nutrients intake and then compare to what you though you were consuming. By doing this, you will have a better understanding of your food data and be able to control types of food and how much food goes into your meal plan.
GETTING CAREER READY: Will help you think about your future career and what you would like to do. If you have no idea or a very specific idea of what you would like to do, this class will provide you with tips and tricks for planning ahead and being successful. Learn what steps you can take next in your career, how to create a work journal to track your accomplishments and the best way to update your resume/vita to increase the likelihood that it is seen.
THE CREATIVE WRITER IN YOU: come express yourself in your own voice with suggestions and helpful hints to bring life to your writing. You’ll read a few excerpts and answer questions related to the creative writing process. You’ll then have an assignment where you write your own creative writing piece using the tools you have learned. It is completely up to you what to write about. Not too difficult and fun at the same time!
PERSONALITY STYLES: prepare to take a step back and look at yourself from deep within to learn more about who you are, while at the same time, learn about others. In doing so, you will be able to understand how to work better with friends and colleagues and how to better communicate with them. By breaking down different aspects of who you are, you will be able to grow personally and professionally.
LEADERSHIP STYLES: Anyone can become a leader. This area teaches you different leadership styles and help you become a better leader. Learn how to cultivate your own leadership style!
ENTERTAINING AND CHALLENGING KIDS: This topic includes unique games and activities to challenge and involve kids, this requires them to work together as a team to solve problems, use creative thinking skill, all while having fun doing it.
