We start with an introduction on the establishment and structure of the American government including the founding fathers, the party system and the effects of bipartisanship, the two houses of congress, the three main branches of the government with their system of checks and balances, as well as the voting process and how polls work. Students will have the chance to see how national and global events have helped shape American policy and relationships. Finally, students will have the opportunity to discuss and debate current hot button issue.
