TO REGISTER: we will accept the first 46 registration forms sent to us using credit cards for payment. If checks are used, you will not be guaranteed a spot unless it arrives before the spots are taken.
CREDIT: Each weekend plus homework is worth 36 hours of study which is equivalent to three credits.
COST INCLUDES: the $340 cost includes the course, hotel and Friday dinner thru Sunday lunch – see the schedule. Parking is free. We put one au pairs in each room unless 2-4 au pairs tell us they are traveling together and want to room together. Your transportation is not included.

TRAVEL: Please check out the travel information below. There is no public travel like bus or train to Silver Bay.
SAFETY GUIDELINES: Silver Bay Conference Center and the Virus. What it means to Au Pairs and Weekend Courses.
GENERAL: masks are required inside all buildings. Masks are required outside when not at a minimum of six feet apart. Guests from outside the State of New York must complete 14 days of quarantine in the State of New York, at their own expenses if traveling from a travel restricted state. Health status questions required of all guests. Cleaning at Silver Bay is exceptional including ultraviolet and other industrial equipment.
HOUSING: au pairs will be assigned to single rooms unless they request a specific roommate. Thus each room with bathroom will have one au pair. Au pairs who might be traveling together and want to share a room can.
There is no inter room visitation. Use the porch other open spaces to socialize at a minimum of six feet.
DINING ROOM: seating at tables is at 10 feet from next table. Tables are set for 1, 2, 3 and larger so people can sit in traveling groups. They are assigned for the duration of stay. Guests are allowed into the dining room social distancing and there are separate in and out doors. Guests are to stay seated until done eating during the meal hours. ALL food, beverage, desserts, disposable utensils, etc. are served by wait staff. A disposable menu is at the table and wait staff take orders. There are 87 table set ups. Vegetarian and Vegan options are always available.
MEETING/EVENT ROOMS: only the larger meeting rooms with scattered seating will be utilized. Weather permitting, many sessions will be outdoors. Currently archery, the boat house and possibly campfires are being offered.
NUMBERS: We are limiting the au pair course weekend to the first 50 au pairs that sign up minus the staff. Registrations will only be accepted with full payment.
CANCELLATION: if you become ill, are from a state added to the quarantine list after you register, or the state decides we cannot do the course, we will fully refund your registration fee if notified 24 hours in advance.
OTHER: we are not able to predict changes closer to the weekend, but realize we will have to continue a flexible full refund policy. State and County guidelines will be followed. Silver Bay has no other group scheduled other than us that weekend at this time.
GETTING THERE/TRAVEL/TRANSPORTATION: Please note that although The College of Saint Rose is located in Albany, NY, you are taking this course at Silver Bay, YMCA of the Adirondacks, located on Lake George, which is located about 80 miles (1.5 – 1.75 hours) north of Albany. There are no buses or trains to Silver Bay.

1. From Albany, take the Northway (Route 87) 60 miles north to Exit 24: Bolton Landing and exit.
(If you need gas, stop at an exit before 24)
2. At end of exit ramp, turn right (east) and continue until end of road (4.5 miles approx.)
3. Turn left (north) at end of road onto Route 9N and continue 12.3 miles
4. You will pass Snug Harbor South on the right and Silver Bay is .6 miles after Sung Harbor
5. Turn right onto Silver Bay road at large sign and continue .25 miles (follow au pair signs)
If you fly, train or bus into Albany, YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS TO SHUTTLE TO SILVER BAY which is 80 miles north of Albany NY.
Uber, Lyft or other ride share apps: please note that if you use one of these on Friday to get to Silver Bay, you will have an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT time finding available drivers on Sunday from Silver Bay which is in an isolated area in the Mountains to take you back to your destination. One way is at least $100.
